Andrews Family | Dry Island Buffalo Jump, Alberta | Airdrie Family Photographer
16 years ago I had the chance to work at a summer camp. Even though I was pretty intimidated and didn't know anyone I made the jump! I met some of my best friends (including my husband) that summer. Leia was one of those people. We went hiking together which has a way of solidifying friendships in my experience and the rest of the summer we were inseparable, including early mornings at the dock and late nights chatting.
Now today Leia has a beautiful family and we decided to celebrate their newest change by going to Dry Island Buffalo Jump by Elnora in Alberta to take photos. As spring can be in Alberta, the weather was a bit unpredictable, but with a bit of flexibility we met on the perfect evening.
Leia's dress was so stunning. The mustard yellow colour was rich against the brown and green tones of spring. Our location seemed to be right out of "The Pride and Prejudice" with the dress, her beautiful hair and the wind.
Toddlers can be a bit unpredictable, but E didn't take long to warm up to the process and was such a cute model, even when his hands wouldn't fit in his pockets! It was so sweet to see how much he loves his dad as they peaked over the edge of the cliff trying to find where the buffalo went!
This may be one of my favourite family sessions to date and I am always thankful to be able to document these times for families.

What a sweet family session! You were right about her dress!
